Now let's get some technicalities out of the way here. When you say"Their is too many pets" I'm going to assume you mean"guardians" rather then pets. Pets are limited to 1 per master, while guardians themselves are only limited by the ability in question. Now, I agree with you to an extent on that theirs too many guardians.

Keeps telling me I have too many pets. - MMO-Champion
While playing I was trying to tame pets and kept getting killed. When trying this I kept getting the message You have too many pets already. I logged out and to my horror I lost 2 levels. Any ideas. I dropped from level 14 to level 12.

At what levels do hunters pets get talent points? - MMO-Champion
That means that at level 70, pets have at least 13 talent points to spend. At level 80, they have at least 16 talent points to spend. In addition if you purchase the 51-point hunter talent at the top of the Beast Mastery tree (called, confusingly, Beast Mastery) all of your pets will get 4 bonus talent points each to spend.

Hunter Pets in Cataclysm - MMO-Champion
I want more different types of pets. We have already: - normal pets - exotic pets in cata you can add: - dark pets - ancient pets - fire pets - frost pets etc... Every type of pet will have it's advantages against another type. That would make Hunter more a thinkable class instead of the pewpewpew class it is now.
